The Annual Gathering of the Tribe would normally take place July 1st - 7th, 2020 somewhere in an area the tracks pretty closely with the state of Idaho. I'm not sure if there will be a gathering, and if something happens, I'm not sure how many people will attend due to COVID-19 and concerns about health and safety for gatherers and folks who live in Idaho.
Personally, I say the gathering starts towards the end of June when it stops being seed camp and starts feeling like a gathering. On July 5th the exodus starts and the population diminishes rapidly over the next few days. For the exact consensus click here.
Harvest Counsel took place October 24-27 in Idaho and took on much of the traditional activities handled by council that happens over the 4-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Read the Harvest Counsel notes online.
However, in true anarchist fashion, where people vote by consensus and by foot, there is also going to be the more historic Thanksgiving Council, November 28 - December 1st. You can read all about it here.
Dates for scout rendezvous and spring council were picked by Harvest Counsel.
- Scout rendezvous will be announced by May 1st.
- Spring Counsel is set to start on Saturday, June 13th. Read this info on spring council. Until spring counsel reaches a decision by consensus or by foot, there is no answer to the question where will the gathering be?

DeleteIt should indeed be canceled. Gatherings already put a burden on small town hospitals. Having a bunch of people travel from all corners to make a 2020 gathering happen is the exact opposite of what needs to be happening. I will be relieved if the 2021 gathering can happen, but 18 months is extremely optimistic for a vaccine to be widely available. Rainbow already has a PR problem as it is. Add spreading covid19 to otherwise isolated rural areas, and the impetus is potentially there for LEO to get nasty enough for there to never be another one after 2020. Stay safe and travel nowhere is my hope for the family this year.

But after the rest of the family gets covid-19 and recovers they can wait 28 days and donate plasma. The plasma is given to severely ill Corona patients. Its saving lives!! DeleteI had gone to the 1st Rainbow gathering in Grandby. I was 20 and we packed up a carload of friends and just went. I didn't even know what it was all about. We walked a long way and went up the side of a mountain to get to a flat forested area with streams running thru it. Everyone was making these huge campfires and it got real smoky before several people demanded people put out their fires. We ran out of food because we gave ours away. It was great and a lot of fun. We couldn't stay because our food was gone. People were crapping where people were bathing in those streams. The music and the people were wonderful. I am just learning that it continued all these years. What a wonderful experience! I would love to go again, but I am fearful of this Covid virus. I'll have to wait until it's safe to gather, but you all try to stay safe and well if you gather this year. For me, maybe next year after there's a vaccine, I'll see you there!

ReplyDeletebe sure your campsite is 10 ft from the other campsite be sure your kitchen has kitchen controls with people able to be 6 feet apart in cooking and preparation be sure you're just station has covid-19 controls where people will say 6 feet apart while they're doing your dishes be sure that people wear masks for dust but not to collect viruses wear masks when you are in a circle very tight together when we have our dinner circle we should give ourselves at least three to five feet of space they cannot stop us from gathering they can only make rules which we are flexible and able to abide by should all else fail you come to my house in New Mexico and we'll have a gathering on my private land
