Vision Council Consensus (2021)

Updated 7/11/20 @ 7:30 a.m. California time

Looks like the people who choose to gather had a vision council/counsel/circle and came up with the following consensi:

Day 1: We the People, being individuals present at Rainbow Family Vision Counsel at the 49th annual Rainbow Gathering of Living Light in the Payette National Forest* on the 7th day of July 2020, convene and consecrate our manifest through Consensus by Silence.
1. We reaffirm that our living vision thrives and relies upon Consensus found on the land in Open Counsel.
2. Consensus is our very best means of advising, but is not binding, and new advice or current situation may cultivate new consensus from individuals present when the people gather in counsel on the land.
3. We suggest that Harvest Counsel be called as close as feasible to the consented 2021 Gathering region, on the weekend of the full moon after the fall equinox.
4. We encourage individuals to share all of the vision counsel consensus instead of just part of it.
5. With great joy and abundant enthusiasm, we invite all who carry hope and intent to join us in a morning of Silence from dawn until noon to constitute World Peace through inner peace, and together with Open Hearts for the 50th Jubilee Rainbow Gathering July 1-7 2021, and to counsel our vision on the seventh day oh, somewhere in the regions of: Santa Fe, Carson, Cibola, Lincoln, Gila, Apache, Coconino, Kaibab Prescott … in a National Forest.
Day 2
6. We call for a discussion on Rainbow Caravans to be held on July 1st at Main Counsel.
7. The Earth as a whole is the common heritage and responsibility of the life borne upon her.
8. We close the 2020 Vision Counsel with a silent passing of the feather.

* Blog owners note: The counsel/council/circle took place in the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest not the Payette

  1. For those who hope to be attending the Idaho 2021 gathering. There was never a consensus to gather, but rather a majority rule to gather in Idaho 2021. That “election” was rigged because only those who had an internet connection (or phone) could vote and only those that were in favor of cancelling Idaho 2020 could voice their opinion. It’s understandable due to the pandemic, but not being honest about it and claiming otherwise isn’t. While rainbow isn’t an entity governed by rules there is a process by which decisions are made and that process wasn’t followed. Again the reason for this end-run around the process was due to the pandemic, but allowing for that should also give place to the consideration that those who chose to gather might have made better choices had the money they were due been transferred. After all they were voting with their feet, naturally. We can say we never use magic hat funds to pay for scouting and the like, but we’re talking about a pandemic and the ability to have a safe gathering, so helping and not hindering would seem to me as making more sense – whether common or not. After all “they” were following process and the decision to “postpone” wasn’t. Even the word “postpone” is an end-run in its own right to avoid using “cancellation” because of the slogan, “Ignore all Rumors of Cancellation”. Here’s the rub and it should be given great consideration. Continuing to claim the gathering in Idaho 2020 wasn’t/isn’t rainbow is producing the appearance of agency and on top of that having kept the funds that were donated to the gathering, even if it was last year, comes mighty close to defrauding the gathering of magic hat funds. It has long been touted by family that people that want to participate need no experience whether scouting or otherwise, but when that’s coupled with bullying rather than teaching them then it would only stand to reason, what we have now should have been expected. After all the whole of rainbow has always been about getting back to nature, but somehow if a virus enters the picture it’s, but not this year. Please! What in God’s creation makes you so sure that there will be anything different next year than this year? A president claiming we’ll have a vaccine by the end of the year. “It’s just going to go away.” If that’s true then why do we need a vaccine? If gathering this year was wrong then so is pushing for Idaho next year. There is absolutely no guarantee, no matter how much effort is put into it, that it will be safe next year. Safer yes, maybe, but nothing outside the grace of God (referred to as creator) is going to insure a safe gathering, nothing. Nature brought this thing into our sphere, but God will decide what its ultimate toll will be. I can’t help but feel this family is trying to have it both ways. Get back to nature and become self-reliant and don’t depend on the government for anything, is how I’ve always heard it said. That is until now when a virus enters the picture then all bets are off. What are we to do? Wait until western technology finds the solution and gear up for a gathering that’s near a hospital with plenty of capacity – just in case. Those who plan on going to the gathering will need to show proof you’ve isolated yourself for 14 days prior to coming and/or you’ve tested positive for the antibodies. Does that sound like a possibility? You can use this in your survey, Karin.
