Please refrain from gathering for the next few months

Due to the Coronavirus, many discussions have taken place about the appropriateness of holding any regional gatherings in the next few months.  Many people I love and respect feel that for the health and safety reasons, we are discouraging all family from attending or focalizing any gatherings under the Rainbow name.

Please find a safe place to hunker down with your friends, your family, or by yourself where you have access to food and water.

I'm not going to repeat everything you are hearing about Coronavirus as you can find this information elsewhere.  Educate yourself!

Please self isolate and practice social distancing to protect our family and the rest of the community around us.  This is the time to think local and help those in your community. Go grocery shopping for olders and those with health issues.  You may be a silent carrier.

If you are a traveler and chose not to hunker down within four walls, please engage in dispersed camping in National Forests or BLM land. Weather in south eastern California is still nice, but that won't last too much longer.

Please share this message widely.

Also, Nick @ Nite posted this message on FaceBook this evening:

Hey everyone. This is Nic@Nite, reaching out to you as separate individuals who collectively agreed to make this statement. Based on the available science, information from various global health agencies, and common sense, we as a camp, all of us, strongly, passionately discourage ANY regional gathering in the next few months, and will not be attending ANY of them, and we strongly encourage individuals to self-isolate, practice social distancing, and think about community safety in regards to virus transmission. Think about Lyme disease and mostly eating trash; they both cause you to be immuno-compromised, and they both affect hundreds of us. You can have the virus and not show symptoms, which means you could infect dozens of people who would then leave and spread it. Research "vectors". Think about the elderly. The Rainbow Family does not need to be remembered as the group that made things worse. Don't let your pride cause you to make a terrible decision. The following people and camps have also attached themselves to this statement and will not be attending any regional gatherings in the next months: Granola Funk, DKV, Water Camp, Story Glory, Kickapoo Kitchen, Montana Kitchen, Rough & Ready, Carla Newbre, Adam Finch Buxbaum, Loretta Red Dog, Aaron Funk, Linchpin, Thomas from Casual Encounters, Rainbeau Weaver,Teryani, Dr. Mike, Info Karen, Pink Eric, Karin Zirk, Aslan, Tenali, Michael John, Davette, Joy, Jenny from Kid Village, Kelly in Tampa and Sevensong.

  1. Also smoking is bad (but please I kid and I am only trolling affectionately and lovingly when I make that comment). You are totally right, Nic @ Nite and WE LOVE YOU!! Dispersed distance camping wherever there is space is the way to go! Practice Physical Distancing (I prefer this term, we are all socializing very much right now!). Have online gatherings. This summer we are gathering in SPIRIT ONLY! Globally! We are all in this together! Stay Safe! Stay Healthy! WE LOVE YOU!

  2. Many of us will still gather, we are not bootlickers who are going to kiss the government's ass. The media and CDC are lying about the projected numbers for this disease. WE ARE NOT IN DANGER! See y'all in the woods this July!

TRANSLATION: We are sociopaths who don't give a fuck about anybody but ourselves. Our motto is - Do whatever the fuck you want even if it others have to die for your irresponsibility and false pride.

TRANSLATION: "See all you fellow sociopaths this July for the Anti-Rainbow Covid-19 Infection Party that will end all gatherings."

  4. ok wow ive been reading all these comments for awhile. this is just another comment but based on a rainbow life my children and i live. ok im a hugger and love being welcomed home with hugs...with that being said, we all have our opinions on the covid 19 trip.i personally couldnt fathom WHAT REALLY IS GOING ON! real or not people are dead from this shit whatever it is . or where ever it came from. it would really suck if we have to cancel a national...but it would really suck if we do gather and god forbid some shit about the covid came down at a gathering. if what your all saying about it being bullshit or gov. isssued ,by whoever, the possibility of the gov. trying to permantly shut us down is real. ive seen some weird ass shit done right in front of all of us at gatherings. fires being started by leos kid village being raided at gun point, people being set up by local undercover punks ect. so honestly individually as a colective we need to look at the bigger picture. also this will blow over before the gathering i can feel it. so just be yourselves nice ,mean ,sociopaths butt lickers trump suckers ect. and remember the reason for all the rainbows being here in the first place... for the earth and the animals. if anything dig deep peeps and stop cannibalism . the sooner we stop eating eachother the quicker the world will heal. so here is some food for thought....speciesism (the assumption of human superiority leading to the exploitation of animals) ya ...chew on that for a minute . this gathering could be the perfect time to show the world how quickly we can get it together. just bring everything you need to get by and we can avoid trips back and forth to town. i personally will be coming home and cant wait to see all of you...in all your freakin glory!!!!!!
